Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem – In the name of Allah, most Gracious and Most Merciful
In Islam there are two types of charity these are Zakat (obligatory) and Sadaqah (voluntary).
And perform As-Salat, and give Zakat, and whatever of good deeds you send forth for yourselves before you, you shall find it with Allah. Certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what you do. The Qur’an encourages all Muslims to donate their wealth in charity:
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower. Charity in Islam is not only donating money but your time in helping the poor and also kindness is charity. We encourage you to look around your family and neighbours and worldwide and help them even if it is just a salaam or to speak to the elderly and help them in their shopping or something within their houses all this is a form of charity.
